Florissant Fossil Quarry, Florissant, Colorado
Get digging! This hands-on fossil digging quarry is a privately-run fossil site. The property has been in the Clare Family for over 50 years. You can find fossils that date back to the late Eocene epoch, 35 million years ago! The quarry contains abundant plant remains, remarkable insect fauna, fishes, birds, and many plant species. Summer hours are 10am-4pm and by appointment only.
